Eva Mendes wants to be a big player

The new Eva Mendes film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival at the weekend. She is credited as an executive producer of the film.

Thought she has a good role in the film she believes that there's still a shortage of meaty roles for women in Hollywood. “I think a lot of actresses look for those kind of roles, but unfortunately there's a lack of them. So, that's how I got involved in producing it, I though, this has to happen,” says the Latin beauty.

She wants to be a big player in Hollywood. “I just have a problem being ‘the accessory’. And I know at times I have been, but it's always to get to that next step. I’ve barely just begun – I’ve got some plans,” she says with a wink.
