Eva Mendes to star in remake of ‘The Women’
It is rumoured that Eva Mendes has
signed another film, a remake of the classic ‘The Women’, which
also have Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Jada Pinkett Smith, Debra
Messing and Candice Bergen in the lead.
It is reported that all the cast members have either signed up for
the movie or are on the verge of it. This would be one
star-studded film. It took director Diane English 10 years of
effort for the project to take off.
‘The Women’ a 1939 classic comedy film was directed by George
Cukor. The film was based on Clare Boothe Luce's play of the same
name. It was one of the greatest successes of its time.
The original film starred Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind
Russell, Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine, Lucile Watson, Mary
Boland, Marjorie Main, Virginia Grey, Ruth Hussey, Virginia
Weidler, Butterfly McQueen, and Hedda Hopper.
